High-flow rotary head lifts ten years of black off block paving in one pass. Biocide-treated afterwards, sealed if you want it to last.
Most drive cleans take half a day on a standard property. Sealing adds another visit a day later — gives you a finish that resists weeds and algae for two seasons.
What about sealing? Sealing is an optional add-on but worth it on block paving and Indian sandstone. It locks in the clean finish, slows weed germination, and brings out the colour. Two-coat application 24 hours after the wash.
Pressure-washing alone strips a drive but doesn’t restore it. Biocide treatment after the wash is what stops the green coming back through the spring. We do both.
High-flow rotary head
Spins a flat shield over the surface so the pressure is evenly distributed — no zebra-stripes, no gouged-out blocks. Faster and gentler than a wand.
Biocide treatment after
Applied across the cleaned surface once dry. Slows algae and moss regrowth, keeps weed germination down, and makes the finish last longer. The bit most cleaners skip.
Surface-specific approach
Block paving, Indian sandstone, concrete and resin-bound all behave differently. We adjust pressure and chemistry per surface — no one-size-fits-all.
Optional sealant
Two-coat solvent-based sealer applied 24 hours after the wash. Locks in the clean surface, brings out the colour, and keeps the drive looking sharp for two seasons.
Average two-car driveway done in 3–4 hours. Sealing adds a second visit the day after, around 90 minutes.
A drive clean done properly is three stages. Cheap cleaners skip stages two and three — that’s why their work doesn’t last.
Pre-treatment knocks back algae and moss, rotary head lifts the years of black. We work systematically — no missed strips, no pressure damage.
Surface dries while we move on, then we brush all loose debris off the drive. This step gets skipped a lot — it’s why the next step works.
Once the surface is dry, biocide is applied across the cleaned drive or patio. It keeps algae and moss back, slows weed germination, and makes the finish last much longer. Standard inclusion, not an extra.
The reason most drives look bad again within a year of cleaning isn’t the dirt itself — it’s algae and moss coming straight back through. Biocide treatment after the wash slows that regrowth and keeps the drive looking clean for two seasons. Sealing extends it further.

A power-washed drive looks great on day one and rough by the spring. The difference is what happens after the wash — and most cleaners stop after the wash.
Surface-appropriate pressure
Indian sandstone takes lower pressure than block paving. Resin needs almost none. We adjust per surface — no one wand-setting fits all.
Biocide treatment included, not an upsell
Applied across the cleaned surface once dry. Slows algae regrowth, keeps weeds at bay, and makes the clean last longer. Other cleaners charge extra for this; we don’t.
Honest about sealing
Sealing is genuinely worth it on block paving and sandstone. It’s not worth it on tarmac or concrete. We’ll tell you which camp you’re in.
No surface damage
Rotary heads, controlled pressure, and proper technique mean we don’t gouge blocks or strip pointing. We’re insured for it, but we don’t need to claim.

Every two to three years if it’s been sealed, every twelve to eighteen months if not. Block paving in shaded or north-facing positions tends to need cleaning more often than open south-facing drives.
Not if it’s done with a rotary head at appropriate pressure. Damage almost always comes from pencil-jet wands held too close — that’s how blocks get gouged and pointing strips out. We don’t use them on drives.
No — we work the other way round. Pre-treating with weed killer doesn’t add much when the wash itself lifts most of the surface growth. What matters is what happens after the clean: we apply biocide across the cleaned surface so the drive stays looking sharp for longer. It keeps algae and moss from coming straight back, and slows weed germination through the joints into the bargain.
Biocide treatment goes on across the cleaned surface and slows the algae, moss and weed regrowth — included as standard. Sealing applies a polymer coating over the whole surface that protects against staining and brings out the colour. Sealing is optional and adds about a third to the price. Most customers do one or the other depending on the surface — happy to advise on the quote.
Same day for a wash-only job, once the surface is dry. Sealing requires 24 hours minimum before driving on, and 48 hours before heavy use.
Yes — and bundling them together usually works out cheaper than two separate visits. Different surfaces (Indian sandstone vs porcelain vs concrete) get different treatment.
Light rain we crack on. Heavy rain we’ll move you a day or two. Sealing has to be done in dry conditions with no rain forecast for 24 hours, so we plan around the weather for that.
No — applied at the dilution we use, it’s safe for surrounding planting. We rinse all borders and plants near the working area as a precaution before we start, and we apply the biocide carefully so it stays on the drive or patio rather than reaching the soil. We’ve never had a plant casualty in twenty years.
